Ricky J is a Montreal DJ/Rapper, best known for his single “No Means No” and “Let It Go” from his album Lose Control Launched in 2001 with Warner Bros. Records.
Later he left Warner Bros. Records to sign with an independent label, Evolution Records, in 2002, with whom he released his second album. His singles off his second album “Hold On & Got A Man” gained much radio and video play. The unreleased Giddy Up was tried in a few U.S. Markets and was Top 5 on radio in Buffalo cand Texas, however due to label’s small budget and marketing the promotion was not done and the album was simply a promotionnal album.
Since 2004 Ricky J has dedicated his efforts to reposition himself and learn the entire music business 360 degrees. Behind the scenes Ricky J has put his stamp on Co-Production, song writing,Management all the way to Artist Bookings.
2007 to Present… Ricky J also became the Music Director for Canada’s hottest Urban Lifestyles Magazine “M.O.B” Music over Business.
Ricky J has been keeping busy hosting and booking events/parties and after parties for major celebrities and artists and to date has worked with and hosted for artists such as Kay Slay, PitBull, Kevin Rudolf, Keri Hilson, Ron Browz, Lady Ga Ga, Dj Felli Fel, Bow Wow, C&C Music Factory, Kaya Jones from The PussyCat Dolls, Dj Dave Armstrong, Mstrkrft and so on.
In 2010, Ricky is currently working on a possible third album with label Angel Eyez Musique Inc.
